Arbor Acres Farm was begun in 1944 by my grandfather Frank H Smith. He purchased the stallion Matze's Model (a grandson of Grandee)and two of his daughters (granddaughters of Locust). The herd was built slowly and carefully in order to preserve a high standard of quality and true Shetland type. Our breeding goal is to produce a conformationally correct pony that is suitable for children and the show ring. Arbor Acres ponies are typified by small size, intelligence and easy going cheerful dispositions combined with quality and refinement.
